    Damn, that looks good.

Was it good for you too? I assume so, since you had a smoke afterward.

I ditched the pot of water next to the bird as per your suggestion. Also, with my snazzy briner I don't have to 'flip the bird'. I just put it in the fridge for a day and a half.

It was so moist. I usually wrap the legs but didn't have to this time due to the low heat. Was able to keep it at 200 for about 8 1/2 hours. Perfectly cooked.

Bring it on by, we'll make some tomato sauce to go with it.

With a the first freeze moving in tonight I decided to go out back just a little bit ago before it got dark so I could strip the San Marzano and Celebrity vines of all of the fruit that I've been waiting to ripen for the past few weeks. I got just a hair over 13 lbs before the sun set...not counting all the ones I left because they were either too small or I just couldn't see them because the vines are so thick. If the San Marzanos behave like other tomatoes all of these should ripen up in the paper bags I'm going to put them in. With a lot of luck, tonight's freeze won't kill the plants and the ones I left out there will grow a little more.

If you've got some old sheets, you could lay them over those plants which would keep them from freezing.

If I put the old sheets in my garden how am I going to make a fort in the living room?
