    Upper Midwest Hunters:

    I have a question. It's hunting/poetry related.

If you're reading, raise your hand here and I will contact you by PM.

Prolly shouldn't have mentioned the poetry part ...

This thing's been sitting here for two hours like a dead fish.

Anybody out there seen Grumpy Old Men?

Yeah, but that was 26 years ago...and I was too busy thinking about how good Ann-Margret still looked to remember much of anything else.

I'm looking for a line to the real author of a poem about hunting camp ... Wisconsin and Michigan hunters are my best bet for info, I think ...

But anyone who pays attention to hunting literature might be able to help.

I have three names cited as author for this particular poem, and I'll bet someone out there knows who the real author is, or why there is so much cornfusion.

I'll take any and all contacts in the upper Midwest who might be able to help me track this down. (Outdoor writers, editors, hunt clubs, local historians, teachers, etc.)

    Mass. Guys
    ---by Swamp Fox

If it did say Nantucket in it
We’d solve this in under a minute
    'Cause the Mass. guys'd say
    That poetry's gay
But insist that they did legally win it.

The Imperfect Plans and Poetry Of Bachelors

There once was a hunter from Saginaw
Who snapped at his mom, "Quit yer naggin', Ma!"
    "I'll find me a wife
    And get a settled-down life
Soon as I kill me a deer that's worth braggin' on."

LOL ... Well, thank you ... But the imperfections in both are keeping me up at night. LOL

When my anthology comes out, maybe I'll have cleaned them up a little ... LOL
