I got my velvet antlers back from the freeze drier. They came out decent, just a little bit of shrinkage causing a few tears. Looks great though. Mounted on a fake skull and a plaque and went in the man cave.

Holy Moses, that's one bad mofo! Imagine the fear when the 'yotes are eating your foe but he's attached to you. Maybe he made a deal with the yotes, eat all you want boys, it'll make it easier to carry.

Jon replied to a thread cold weather gear in Podunk Corner
Once the temps get down under 20, I start layering and using stick on heat pads. I wear the normal scent stuff as a base layer then UA cold gear then "long John" type clothes then Sitka bibs and Sitka jacket and hat with neck gaiter when wind is an issue. The stick on heating pads you can find at any pharmacy type store, they are made for sore backs. I stick them on my 2nd layer down on my lower back so they will keep my kidneys warm. Warm kidneys, warm body. I have a bad back and if I start shaking, my back goes into spasm's and I'm done for the day. wearing these helps me sit longer.

Speaking of scent drags.......went hunting with an old GF while she was menstruating, it was during the rut. She and I were only 80yds apart and I watched a beautiful heavy horned buck come right in on her trail and proceed to march directly to her and sniff her ladder. I was just waiting for her to put an arrow through this buck and to this day, I have no idea why she didn't. As awesome as that was, I'd take my chances alone before ever even seeing her again. Evil

Good one Luv2, although I'm now vision impaired, I had a similar experience when I was much younger and could see perfectly. Was walking into the woods at my parents house at several hours before light, it was dark, like black dark. I knew those woods and could get to my stand without any light until I heard the sound of a 4 legged creature walking. I leaned against a tree so as not to spook it and the leaf crunching got louder and louder until it was on top of me. It got right next to me and stopped, I could hear it breathing but I couldn't see it. I assume it was a buck but can't confirm. It stood right there, didn't move for probably 15 minutes. That seemed like the longest 15 minutes of my life. Could have been a Chupacabra or maybe even Loch Nessy

I was in my woods messing around with some dead wood and this thing flew out from under the pile. I had my little Boston Terrier Izzie with me and the thing (I think it was a fox) ran around us a few times and then started barking at us. I was scared for my life so I drew my pistol and shot it right in the face. I'd always wanted to try taxidermy so this was my first go
