We did a little of 250 on the way home, nothing spectacular but that whole area is just gorgeous.

I have to say, the area where Bob lives is certainly one of the most beautiful places I've visited, it's filled with history and has the most incredible views of anywhere in the country. Michelle and I rode the area Thursday-Sunday and had an absolute blast. Very nice folks and the best twisty roads you could ever want. Ate up a back tire but it was well worth it. Took some mountain roads to Marlinton WV and stopped at a few historical sites to take it all in. Rode the Blue Ridge Parkway for 300 miles, not a police car seen! I really lucked out marrying into law enforcement, I used to be in the same situation as Bob when I drove to and from Mass. Now, we both wear a holster for one of my 40's and switch back and forth when we are in and out of states I am not legal to carry in. Since she has HR218 covering her in EVERY state, she wears the gun in the states I can't and I wear it in the states I can. Especially when on the motorcycle because we really have no cage protection from fools and you just never know. I haven't had any reason to draw my weapon BUT if the situation should ever present itself, I sure feel better being legally armed than not.

Bob, the state used those high flotation tire trucks because they go right out into the marsh and install the nesting poles. No need to lay down any pallets or metal grates, the trucks go right over pretty much anything . I cut the hardwoods because I'm using them for fire wood. I'm not clear cutting by any stretch of the imagination, just selectively cutting a few large oaks a year to feed my wood stove. I now have a 2 year supply of seasoned wood so the trees I cut this year will lay in 4' sections and be cut next summer (2018) for use that winter and I'll always have a rotating supply of seasoned wood to use.

I was bush hogging one of the farms yesterday and the state had clearcut an area so they could get vehicles out into the marsh to erect some Osprey nests. They neatly piled up a few trees they had to cut down, cut into 4' sections, stacked easily so I could fill my tractor bucket and drop into the bed of my truck. Yes, oak and cherry. That's a score for me since I've been slowly cutting the hardwood trees out of my woods and I only have so much. I found several piles, all of which are coming home with me. Sorry to get this thread back on topic, don't mean to ruin your wood fest.

I recently had a guest that had some trouble handling multiple long rods Not sure what kind of things you are up to down there but I now have a good idea. Were the cats involved?
