I listened to that whole thing and he never did explain how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes. "Boots on the ground, boots on the ground. Lookin' like a fool with your boots on the ground." But seriously... While I agree that there's no replacing spending time checking things out in-person, I can see this being a useful additional tool...especially when physically visiting the areas you hunt represents an hour-and-a-half round-trip drive.

They started off with something like 29 candidates, several of them bat-shit crazy...then decided it was a good idea to hire an incompetent group of young activists to write software to count votes for delegates in an already thoroughly corrupt Iowa caucus. The only candidate left with any real chops is now a rambling old coot who can't keep his hands of little girls and other men's wives in public. And then, they had a billionaire with a messiah complex swoop in and start trying to buy the whole race. I would say this is pretty much a recipe for chaos. BTW...do you know the difference between Michael Bloomberg and God? God doesn't think he's Michael Bloomberg.

DParker replied to a thread Shared calendar app in Podunk Corner
Google Calendar supports group calendars. I haven't used that feature, but I can say that GC in general is easy to use, reliable and accessible via just about every method you can imagine...including Alexa and, of course, Google Home. Setting up/checking reminders and appointments via voice command...even while driving...is the feline's PJs.

I was surprised to see that quite a few of the comments were demonstrations of a reasonable amount of skepticism, while the rest...well...they didn't age so well.

I've been following...with much dismay...the goings-on in VA since the 2016 election. There are a great many in your state who are doing everything they can to fight back, but in the near-term I fear it will not be enough. The demographics have shifted sufficiently that it appears that the local ballot box will not afford any remedy, and the best hope for one will be an eventual appeal before a somewhat more sympathetic SCOTUS in the next year or two. And yeah, the two-party system has been a "lesser of two evils" Hobson's choice for far too long now.

I just knew it was really Trump/Putin/Ukraine/Marley's Ghost who was responsible for the Iowa Dem Caucus train wreck, and not the fault of the unfairly maligned, completely honest and competent DNC! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It wasn&#39;t just a computer glitch, it was also deliberate action by Trump supporters that messed up the Democratic Iowa caucuses, reports <a href="https://t.co/4e5oJvJGz5">https://t.co/4e5oJvJGz5</a> <a href="https://t.co/Kw7W9viA6i">pic.twitter.com/Kw7W9viA6i</a></p>&mdash; David Frum (@davidfrum) <a href="https://twitter.com/davidfrum/status/1225409009311780870?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 6, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
