Every time I think I've read the most stupid thing a "news" organization could possible put out, the WaPo and NYT step up with a hearty, "Hold our beers..."

The Apollo program was designed by men, for men. My Sharona. Please tell me you pronounced it "jī-rō", just to screw with them. Seriously though, that looks like it was a fun trip.

Good move. You're not half as dumb as I look. It pairs well with grilled octopus though. All the Italian you need to know (once you get past the French). Sono affamato!!

Speaking of being menaced by local wildlife....sorta'....not really... This is an area on the outskirts of San Antonio. Hikers hid from "wild pigs" in Government Canyon tree, but there were no pigs It sounds like they might have been playing a bit fast and loose with the word "man" in this context.

You know...in my younger days I probably would have wanted to party with these two. Oklahoma couple allegedly driving stolen vehicle filled with uranium, a rattlesnake, and Kentucky Deluxe That sounds like the basis for a Hunter S. Thompson novel.

Good news, everyone! Joe Biden just declared that Russia did not "interfere" in the 2016 presidential election.

VIDEO - Biden: Russia Election Interference Wouldn’t Have Happened ‘On My Watch and Barack’s Watch’ https://t.co/rk0yY9tbkc
— Grabien (@GrabienMedia) July 5, 2019

While you're doing that important cultural research, given the economic difficulties the country has been experience the past few years, see if you can't answer that age old question: "What's a Grecian Urn?" Oh, and...don't pick up the soap.

Well, those *exact* types have been pretty much phased out, yeah. But they've been replaced by improved versions that are still stove-top models, but with enhanced safety versions (better pressure valves, locks that prevent you from opening while they're under pressure, etc.).

Quite the opposite. They're more popular now than ever, owing mostly to the Instant Pot (and other makes that basically do the same thing). Between greatly enhanced safety features and the "set and forget" functionality provided by the built-in electronics they're so much easier...and safer...to use now that they're even trendier than sous vide cookers. I use the hell out of mine.

The total cooking time is actually slightly more than 10 minutes, as it takes a few minutes to come up to pressure...which is when the timer starts.

...the tally is now: Little brown girl dog - 2 Squirrels - 0 Despite her clear desire for me to smoke this one (that's where she left it) I decided to give the Instant Pot a shot at it instead. After a little salt, pepper and Italian seasoning and 10 minutes at high pressure in a cup of chicken stock this full-grown fox squirrel was as fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious as after 16 hours of sous vide. This is now my favorite small game cooking method. (Full size: https://i.imgur.com/osTf465.jpg)

Maybe I'm just a cheap old bastard, but I still can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a single über cooler when I can get 3 Colemans/Igloos of the same size for the price. Yes, I'm sure there are some applications (mostly work-related) where the extra durability of a more well-constructed hunk of plastic makes sense in the long run. But after 15 years I'm only on my 2nd 150 qt Coleman "Xtreme" model, and except for the first one wearing out after a decade...mostly due to being left exposed to the sun too much...the only things I've had fail on them are the plastic hinges, and one drain plug that cracked on me. Both were quickly and easily replaceable with cheap parts, with the hinge replacements on my current cooler being galvanized steel that will likely outlive me. So the short answer is that I'm not much help on this one, and am just here to boost my post count.
